About Barrett Environmental
For twenty years Barrett Environmental has provided a wide range of ecological survey and other services. In 2005 we became a company limited by guarantee in response to increasing and expanding demand for services from our existing client base and a growing number of new customers. Our highly experienced team has a wide skills base from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines and is able to deliver efficient and cost effective solutions based on first hand-experience and best practice.
Much of our work is commissioned to support planning applications and is related to protected species issues. Our clients range from individual property owners seeking planning consent to large corporations and the public sector services who use our expertise to help deliver corporate strategies and responsibilities towards biodiversity and the environment.
Technological advances provide new ways of carrying out surveys for certain species, such as bats, and we utilise the latest equipment, survey techniques and computer software to provide the highest quality fieldwork and reports. Personnel hold a range of individual Natural England species survey licences and the Company has a large portfolio of successful Natural England Development licence applications.
We provide a service that is professional, efficient and cost effective whilst fulfilling the stringent requirements of the planning consultation process. Through our long relationships with local planning authorities and the statutory authorities, we are confident that our work meets the high standards required to ensure successful resolution.
Personnel undergo regular training, are actively involved in local wildlife groups and societies and are encouraged to join the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management and also the Society for the Environment. These bodies help to ensure that the sector delivers to the highest standards and provide advice and guidance to both practitioners and customers. |
